skin nourishment

True beauty comes from within –
from health, happiness and well-being –
our skin can reflect that radiant beauty.
Skin is our largest and most luscious organ – the interface of pleasure, protection and nourishment. Natural products, suited to your needs are a quintessential necessity for epicurean beauty.
skin needs to breathe!

Our skin absorbs life-giving oxygen and “exhales” carbon dioxide – performing up to one-seventh of the body’s respiration. Brilliant. If your body was sealed in plastic or paint, you would actually suffocate.
Skin is a resilient medium absorbing nourishment
and eliminating waste, an essential part of beauty
and balance.
from the outside in
Skin absorbs! Pure skin products – lotions, potions, serums, masques, cleansers and soap – are essential.
More than skin deep
Products applied on this skin affect more than skin alone. Research shows skin to be a favorable delivery route to the bloodstream. This is a double-edged sword. It is believed that up to 60% of the chemicals in common beauty products are absorbed into the bloodstream. Yikes!
Pure, natural skin products are not simply benign – they are healing, rejuvenating and nourishing.
from the inside out
What we put in our bodies finds it way to our skin. What we eat reflect in our skin – for the better and worse.
Clean food and water are pure beautifying agents – especially healthy oils.
Skin provides an exit strategy for toxins and waste, primarily through sweat. Avoiding products with petroleum products – like parabens – which seal the seal the skin is a smart start. |

caution!
petroleum based
skin products
Petroleum-based products are made from the same fossil fuel that runs our cars and makes plastic. Petroleum cannot be absorbed by the body- like a thin layer of plastic it seals the skin’s ability to breathe and renew itself.
Unfortunately, these ingredients sneak in everywhere (soap, lotion, cleansers), even products that appear on health-food store shelves with labels that advertise organic ingredients (boo-hiss). For supple, healthy skin- avoid products with petroleum derived ingredients.
Look at labels. Common petroleum ingredients to look out for:
Parabens:
• Methylparaben
• Propylparaben
Lauryl Sulfates
and Larureth Sulfates:
• Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS)
• Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate
• Soidum Laureth Sulfate (SLE)
• Propylene Glycol
• Lauramide DEA |
